Making sense of your aftercare instructions after Botox
Use your individual follow-up plan instead of conflicting online lists. Questions about routine activities and review.

Describe your usual routine beforehand
Discuss exercise, work, travel, skin care and upcoming events before treatment. Understand which circumstances and time period your instructions cover. A friend receiving different advice is not sufficient reason to alter your own plan. Ask for written information and an explanation of anything unclear. Online lists of absolute permissions and prohibitions should not be applied as though they were based on your clinical assessment and the details of your procedure.
Separate reporting a problem from routine review
Use the medical contact route provided if you develop a new or unexpected concern. Serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking need urgent medical care rather than a routine review appointment. For appearance-related questions, be specific about when a change began, whether it is changing and where you notice it. Do not arrange an additional procedure, medicine or other intervention yourself as a substitute for an appropriate assessment.
