Considering chin filler: looking at the whole profile
A chin concern belongs within a discussion of the whole face. Understand the limits of making decisions from profile photographs.

One angle does not describe a face
A chin concern is not just the line in a side photograph. The front view, facial movement and surrounding features also shape your preferences. Extending your head or moving a camera close can make comparisons misleading. A filtered profile is not evidence that the same shape would suit you. Describe the appearance that bothers you and when you notice it, rather than relying on a fixed judgment such as “my chin is too far back.”
Define the boundary of a cosmetic goal
Chin filler may be considered for selected contour preferences, but it does not diagnose jaw structure or bite problems. Mention pain, chewing difficulties or concerns about how your teeth meet separately. If a goal is unsuitable, discuss alternatives instead of treating additional volume as the answer. A useful consultation explains what a proposed change will not address and how review will be organised, alongside any possible change in the profile.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- In which views do I notice the concern?
- Do I have functional or bite-related symptoms to mention?
- What are the limits and alternatives for the contour goal?
