Brow design: personal proportions rather than one template

Last updated:

Use a reference image to start a conversation

A brow you like on another face may not have the same effect on yours. Identify what appeals to you: a softer beginning, a defined arch or a fuller appearance. Point out growth direction and areas previously over-plucked. No single proportion or drawing rule fits everyone. A useful discussion clarifies what you want to change and what you want to preserve, without treating every natural difference as a defect.

Think about the design in everyday use

Whether you fill your brows daily or prefer a makeup-free appearance changes the discussion. Agree on which hairs will be removed and which areas preserved, and take time to inspect a proposed outline from different angles. Hair removal, tinting and permanent makeup are different procedures. If pigment implantation is proposed, discuss its separate risks and care needs rather than treating it as ordinary shaping.

Questions to bring to your consultation

  • Which feature do I like in the reference image?
  • Which hairs and areas will be preserved?
  • Is this shaping, tinting or permanent makeup?

This article provides general information, not an individual diagnosis, treatment plan or procedure instructions. Discuss suitability, risks and personal care with the appropriate qualified professional.
