Fillers and Botox: start with the concern, not the label
These procedures do not serve identical purposes. A clear starting point for separating volume concerns from expression lines.

Discuss the concern before the names
Fillers and Botox are often mentioned together, but they are different procedures. Fillers may address selected volume or contour concerns, while botulinum toxin temporarily reduces the effect of activity in targeted muscles. That basic distinction is not enough to choose your own treatment. It is more useful to explain when you notice the appearance that concerns you, whether at rest or during facial movement, and what you would like to preserve.
A combined proposal is not an obligation
Both methods may be discussed in a consultation without both being necessary. Ask which separate concern each proposal addresses. Understand the scope, cost and review arrangements rather than leaving them inside an unexplained package. You may defer a procedure you do not understand or are not ready to consider. A useful decision is based on individual assessment and clear goals, not on increasing the number of treatments in the plan.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- Does my concern appear related to volume or movement?
- Which goal does each proposed method address?
- Have a single procedure and deferring treatment been discussed?
