Discussing your smile before Botox around the eyes
Lines during a smile are different from other eye-area concerns. Prepare for a clearer discussion with the physician.

Separate expression lines from other concerns
Lines that become visible at the outer eye during a smile differ from under-eye hollowness or a concern about skin texture. Do not bundle them into a single “eye-area treatment.” Describe which appearance you hope to change and which aspects of your smile you like. Rather than assuming another person’s change will apply to you, ask for an explanation of your own assessment and the limits of the proposed method.
Include your eye-health history
Mention dry eyes, eyelid concerns, previous eye surgery or ongoing treatment to your physician. These details belong in an individual suitability discussion; an online article cannot assess them and approve a procedure. Ask how concerns will be followed up and what review is intended to establish. When comparing photographs, notice whether the expressions and lighting are similar. A full smile in one image and a restrained smile in another are not a clear comparison.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- Is my concern an expression line or another eye-area issue?
- Has my eye-health history been included?
- Which features of my smile would I like to preserve?
