Choosing a moisturiser: balance texture and skin needs
The richest cream is not automatically the best choice. Consider skin comfort, your routine and how consistently you use it.

Start with daily experience rather than a promise
Look beyond packaging claims to your experience after application. Uncomfortable heaviness, difficulty layering makeup or persistent dryness can affect regular use. Explain your preferences when discussing lotion, cream or other textures. Mention fragrance sensitivity and read the label. Hearing a familiar ingredient name does not establish that an entire formula suits you; the full product and how you use it matter.
Give moisturiser a clear place in your routine
Record when you moisturise and what you use alongside it instead of constantly replacing products. Weather, surroundings and other products may change how skin feels. Do not force continued use through persistent burning or a rash; seek appropriate advice. A care appointment does not replace a manageable home routine. Ask which products you already own fit the plan, as well as whether anything new is needed.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- Which texture is comfortable for daily use?
- What do I apply alongside my moisturiser?
- Does persistent dryness need assessment?
