How long does Botox last? Why one timeline does not fit everyone
Temporary effects, individual assessment and a repeat-treatment decision are separate issues. How to interpret fixed-duration promises.

Temporary does not mean a compulsory calendar
The cosmetic effect of botulinum toxin is temporary, but that does not establish the same repeat-treatment calendar for everyone. The area, previous experience and clinical assessment belong in the discussion. Someone else’s reported duration is not a precise standard for your outcome. Noticing a change earlier than expected does not, by itself, establish a conclusion about the product or procedure. Bring the observation to the clinician and revisit what was explained about your individual plan.
Do not make repeat treatment automatic
Before repeating a procedure because a reminder appears, reconsider your current goal. Discuss satisfaction, changes you noticed and any concerns. Asking for an amount or frequency solely to obtain a longer effect does not replace individual assessment. Include deferral or no further procedure when considering your overall care budget. If your health or medicines have changed since the last consultation, make that part of the next discussion rather than assuming the earlier plan still applies.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- Was my duration expectation discussed individually?
- Does a repeat decision reflect my current goal?
- Has my medical information changed since the last visit?
