What is permanent makeup? A guide before deciding
Permanent makeup is not simply longer-wearing daily cosmetics. Understand pigment implantation and its limitations.

This is a different decision from everyday makeup
Permanent makeup is a form of tattooing that places pigment in the skin. It is different from choosing makeup that can be washed off that evening. Colour and shape may change, and easy, mark-free removal or correction cannot be guaranteed. Discuss care and long-term expectations rather than looking only at a same-day image. Mention previous pigment procedures before planning a new outline.
Allow time for questions
Ask about practitioner experience, pigments and hygiene procedures. Do not decide on assurances that minimise possible allergy, infection or an unwanted appearance. Medical history and ongoing treatment may affect suitability; seek healthcare advice when needed. Clarify scope, fees and follow-up. Taking time or choosing not to proceed is reasonable. Wanting an easier morning routine does not require agreeing immediately.
Questions to bring to your consultation
- Do I understand the tattoo nature and permanence limits?
- Are pigment, hygiene and follow-up details clear?
- Have I had enough time to decide?
