Planning care and follow-up after permanent makeup

One universal timetable or product list is not appropriate. Obtain written care directions and a contact route for concerns.

Planning care and follow-up after permanent makeup

Understand care arrangements before the appointment

Discuss care alongside work and travel before treatment. Obtain written directions about products, precautions and review. A friend receiving different advice is not sufficient reason to change your own plan. Do not add random creams or homemade mixtures. Ask for an explanation if a direction is unclear rather than combining conflicting online lists. The instructions should relate to the actual procedure and your circumstances.

Separate expected change from a possible problem

Learn what changes may be expected and when healthcare assessment is needed. Increasing pain, spreading redness, discharge or fever should not simply be described as colour settling; seek appropriate medical assessment. Do not wait for a routine review if symptoms are severe or worsening quickly. Picking scabs or concealing concerns with more pigment is not a solution. Share symptom timing and product details at review rather than judging everything from an early photograph.

Questions to bring to your consultation

  • Do I have written individual care directions?
  • Who should I contact and how?
  • Do I know which symptoms need medical assessment?

This article provides general information, not an individual diagnosis, treatment plan or procedure instructions. Discuss suitability, risks and personal care with the appropriate qualified professional.
